YOU CAN'T JUDGE A BUG BY ITS COVER

An Original Children's Musical - Production by The California Theatre Ensemble - Pasadena, CA - 1980

The story centers around the lives of common garden bugs living in a potting shed. Design challenges included the Caterpillars that need to be able to run and dance around, as well as crawl, around the stage and then later transform into butterflys on stage in front of the audience. For this reason the costume parts that were next to the body and the "caterpillar skins" had to be washable.
